ABOUT THE COMPOSITION Six Studies in Hylian Folksong is a set of compositional/instrumental etudes written for Canadian pianist, Jesse Plessis. The 'folksong material' is taken from Koji Kondo's music found within the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time video game, with each movement representing personal thresholds crossed throughout our common life journey (birth, childhood, maturation, marriage, senility, and death). 

The piece was premiered at the inaugural 2014 Centric Festival in Lethbridge, Alberta.
