Drawn from the O Antiphons - a set of seven chants used at vespers during the last seven days of advent in the Christian tradition - O Virgo virginum is the eighth antiphon, added later during English mediaeval practice.
O Virgo virginum, quo modo fiet istud?
Divinum est mysterium hoc quod cernitis.
O Virgo Virginum was premiered at the 2015 Centric Festival in Lethbridge, Alberta, performed by the Incanto Singers under the direction of Kathy Matkin Clapton. This zodiac etude is dedicated to my grandmother, Charlotte Mildred - born September 10.
