Six Studies in Hylian Folksong is a set of compositional/instrumental etudes written for Canadian pianist, Jesse Plessis. The 'folksong material' is taken from Koji Kondo's music found within the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time video game, with each movement representing personal thresholds crossed throughout our common life journey:
birth, childhood, maturation, marriage, senility, and death.
The piece was premiered at the inaugural 2014 Centric Festival in Lethbridge, Alberta.
